Which Walt Disney World Resort is Right for You?

Walt Disney World currently has over 25 resorts to choose from while staying on the Walt Disney World property.  These resorts are broken down into Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resorts.  From the money-conscious Value Resorts to the lavish Deluxe Resorts,  there is something appealing to everyone.  With so many options, selecting the right resort for you and your family can be a stressful part of the planning process.  In the hopes of making your Walt Disney World vacation planning a little easier, we have provided necessary information regarding each resort category.





Value Resorts

Pop Century Resort, All-Star Music Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Sports Resort, and Art of Animation Resort

- Price Range (not including a promotion):  $100-$331/night

- Rooms include 2 double beds or 1 king bed that sleeps up to 4 guests

- Art of Animation and All-Star Music Resorts offer family suites that sleep up to 6 guests

- Immersive theming throughout the resorts

- Food Courts, but no Table Service Restaurants

- Several pools that feature a Disney theme

-Ideal for people who plan to spend the majority of their vacation in the parks and less time at the resort 

-Extremely kid friendly





Moderate Resorts

Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, Coronado Springs, and the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort


- Price Range (not including a promotion):  $191-$309/night

- Rooms include 2 queen beds or 1 king bed that sleeps up to 4 guests

- Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach offer rooms that can sleep up to 5 guests

- Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach offer special Princess or Pirate themed rooms

- Coronado Springs has jr suites that can sleep up to 6 guests

- All except Port Orleans French Quarter include a Table Service Restaurant

- Each resort contains a feature pool with water slide as well as other quiet pools  throughout

- Walking pathways around the resorts

- On-site recreation options for an additional fee

- Free recreation activities and entertainment

- The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are included in the moderate category




Deluxe Resorts

Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Polynesian Village Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary/Bay Lake Tower, Beach Club Resort, Yacht Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Old Key West, and Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa


- Price Range (not including a promotion):  $307 and up

- Standard rooms can sleep up to 5 guests

- Some deluxe resorts offer villas that have multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.  The villas include a kitchenette and some can sleep up to 12 guests

- Includes Table Service Restaurants with one upscale restaurant (2 dining credits if on the meal plan)

- Offers Quick Service food but there are no food courts at these resorts

- Each resort has a feature pool with a water slide, numerous quiet pools, and hot tubs throughout the resort

- All except Animal Kingdom Lodge have non-bus access to at least one theme paths (some include walking paths as an option)

                                                                                                 - On-site recreation options for an additional fee

                                                                                                 - Free recreation including activities around the pool and movies at night

                                                                                                 - On-site gyms and salons

                                                                                                 - Geared to guests who want to spend time relaxing and exploring the resort






Disney Resort Benefits

Guests staying at any of the Disney owned resorts regardless of the category receive all of the benefits that we have listed below:

-Free Transportation to the all of the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs

-Extra Magic Hours- on certain days the parks open an hour early or stay open 2 hours after closing time for resort guests only

-Guests can book their FastPass+ selections 60 days in advance and for up to 10 days of their stay

-Guests can book their dining reservations 180 days in advance for up to 10 days of their stay

-Merchandise delivery from any onsite store to your resort (means you don't have to carry all your purchases with you)

-Complimentary MagicBands

-Resort room charging with the use of your MagicBand

-Airline check in at the resort-  get your boarding pass & check your luggage right from your resort

-Skip baggage claim at the Orlando Airport- Disney gets your bags and delivers them to your room

-The ability to purchase the Disney Dining Plan
